A straight away starting hole, slightly uphill. The average player should have 160 yards or less to an elevated green. A deep sand bunker guards the left front edge of the green. Short is not a bad play because it provides an uphill chip to the hole. A long shot over the green provides a difficult shot back to the green.
PAR 4
Blue 380 yards
White 368 yards
Yellow 270 yards
Red 270 Yards
A short but difficult par 3. This green is sloped from back to front and guarded by two sand traps. A misplayed shot to the right will bring big numbers into play. A well played shot to the left section of the green will provide a good opportunity for par. The proper club selection is vital for this hole.
PAR 3
Blue 163 yards
White 150 yards
Yellow 139 yards
Red 135 yards
A sharp dogleg to the right par 4. A lateral hazard extends down the right side of the fairway which promotes golfers to stay left. The hazard then dissects the fairway at the bend of the dogleg. The approach is uphill to the green sloped back to front. The green is protected by a left front sand trap.
PAR 4
Blue 355 yards
White 336 yards
Yellow 295 yards
Red 295 yards
A slight dogleg par 5 that turns right about 200 yards off the men’s tee. Players will want to be accurate from the tee to avoid the trees along the right side. This hole can only be hit in two by the most skilled players. The approach shot to this green must be accurate to avoid 3 sand traps protecting the green. Long on this hole provides a difficult shot back to an elevated green. This hole is the #1 handicap hole for the ladies.
PAR 5
Blue 542 yards
White 524 yards
Yellow 480 yards
Red 419 yards
The men’s #1 handicap hole at Scotch Meadows. The par 4 dogleg left with out of bounds down the right side and hazard on the left. The hazard that continues across the dogleg comes into play off the tee for those playing the yellow and red tees. The approach shot is slightly uphill to a green protected by sand traps on the right and left. One of the most difficult greens on the course, sloping from back to front. Par is an excellent score on this hole.
PAR 4
Blue 412 yards
White 386 yards
Yellow 298 yards
Red 284 yards
Don’t let the distance fool you. The slight dogleg right par 4 is a fun but demanding hole. Usually a 200 yard shot from the tee provides a short approach shot to an uphill green, bunkered on the right and left. A big tee shot must avoid trees on the right and a hazard down the left side. A long approach shot provides a tough shot back to the green.
PAR 4
Blue 301 yards
White 287 yards
Yellow 270 yards
Red 270 yards
A long uphill par 3 which is protected by large sand traps along the right and left sides and out of bounds in the rear of the green. Hitting the green in regulation is not going to guarantee a par. There are many hidden slopes in this green which makes it difficult to putt. This hole usually plays longer than the yardage.
PAR 3
Blue 198 yards
White 178 yards
Yellow 160 yards
Red 160 yards
A straight away par 5, bunkered to the right and left off the tee. The entire hole is bordered to the right by out of bounds, and to the left by stately pine trees. Two well played shots will provide an eagle putt, but then the fun begins. The green is two tiered from back to front and slopes off in all directions. This could be an opportunity to pick up a shot.
PAR 5
Blue 455 yards
White 439 yards
Yellow 348 yards
Red 348 yards
This straightaway par 4 is bordered to the right and left by trees. The tee shot aims you to the right trees, so make sure of your alignment off the tee. The approach to the green is protected by three sand traps and the green slopes from back to front. As with many holes at Scotch Meadows, over this green is a difficult up and down.
PAR 4
Blue 385 yards
White 366 yards
Yellow 328 yards
Red 296 yards
A straight away par 4 with trouble lining both sides of the fairway. A tee shot to the right side encounters out of bounds and an almost guaranteed lost ball as you will be on the driving range. A water hazard lines the entire left side of the fairway. With a good drive, a short iron is left to the green, which is bunkered on the left side.
PAR 4
Blue 370 yards
White 348 yards
Yellow 325 yards
Red 272 yards
A dogleg left par 4 and one of the most difficult holes on the golf course. This hole dogleg left about 200 yards from the tee. An ideal shot would be a ball turning right to left, around the edge of the trees. A shot hit straight or one moving to the right could find the trees and makes the hole a longer distance. The approach shot is usually a mid to long iron onto an elevated green with sand traps guarding the left side. The green slopes dramatically from back to front. Par is a very good score!
PAR 4
Blue 411 yards
White 384 yards
Yellow 325 yards
Red 272 yards
A long par 3 for the men, but the shortest par 3 for the ladies. This hole has an elevated green with bunkers on the left and right. A missed shot short of the green would give you the best opportunity to save par.
PAR 3
Blue 204 yards
White 176 yards
Yellow 136 yards
Red 125 yards
A par 4 with a slight dogleg to the right. The correct play would be to the left side of the fairway, which opens the shot to the green. Stay away from the right side which is marked lateral hazard. The green is elevated from back to front. Be careful with a front left pin placement, as being long would make a very difficult 2 putt.
PAR 4
Blue 389 yards
White 364 yards
Yellow 339 yards
Red 329 yards
Par 4 dogleg left. Don’t let the distance of this hole fool you. A tee shot working right to left is needed. A 3-wood or 5-wood is a good club from the teeing area. The short approach shot to the green must be accurate because of the traps on the left and right. The green slopes off in all directions.
PAR 4
Blue 366 yards
White 324 yards
Yellow 252 yards
Red 252 yards
A unique double dogleg par 5. This is the longest hole on the golf course and is not reachable in 2 by many players. Heavy pine trees line both sides of the fairway and the green is guarded on both sides by bunkers.
PAR 5
Blue 544 yards
White 508 yards
Yellow 422 yards
Red 422 yards
One of the hardest par 4’s on the golf course. A tee shot must be played to the right side of the sloping fairway. A sizable waste bunker protects the left side of the fairway from the hazard that lies in the wooded area on the left. The approach shot is slightly uphill to a big green with a sand bunker in the front right and back left.
PAR 4
Blue 411 yards
White 382 yards
Yellow 294 yards
Red 294 yards
A downhill par 3 to an elevated green. The tee shot must be accurate to avoid bunkers that protect the left and right sides of the green. Missing the green here would make par a difficult score to achieve.
PAR 3
Blue 176 yards
White 164 yards
Yellow 151 yards
Red 146 yards
The par 5, 18th hole at Scotch Meadows is the signature hole. This dogleg right hole can be hit in 2 shots with a perfect drive, and if you have the confidence and skill to go for it. With your approach shot, whether it is your second or third (or fourth!) shot, you must navigate your ball to a green surrounded by a running creek to the front, right, and left. A large bunker sits behind the green, and a small bunker sits in the front left side of the green, which is the longest green on the golf course, so a two-putt is not automatic. The back drop to this hole is the Scotch Meadows beautiful Colonial style clubhouse.
